What is IPL (Vasculight HR)?

IPL uses a filtered light beam to penetrate to a precise depth, to allow absorption of the light by target tissue (blood vessels, pigment clusters, hair follicles, sun damaged skin). Different filter heads are used, depending on the type of target, color of the patient's skin, and location. The target cell absorbs the light which is converted to heat causing a local reaction. Most conditions that patients seek treatment for require a series of IPL treatments to optimize the effectiveness. A minimum of five FotoFacial treatments should be done, being spaced three to six weeks apart. Laser hair reduction treatment intervals vary, depending upon the coarseness of the hair, the color of the hair, and the location on the body.
