Facelifts

facelift, or rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that produces a tighter, more youthful facial appearance. As a consequence of aging, it is common for many of us to lose facial volume, particularly in the area of the cheeks. Our skin also loses elasticity, which results in sagging, wrinkles and sunken cheekbones. Sagging also contributes to the formation of jowls and causes our lower eyelids and cheeks to droop. A facelift helps to rejuvenate your appearance by lifting and tightening the skin, soft tissue, and muscle on your face, making it smoother and tighter. By lifting the facial tissue back to its original position and adding volume to sunken areas, resulting in smoother and more defined facial contours, a facelift can turn back the clock to reveal a more youthful you.

Minimally Invasive Facelifts

minimally invasive facelift, also known as a lateral facelift, weekend lift, or lifestyle lift, is a less invasive version of a traditional facelift. Minimally invasive facelifts are ideal for men and women looking to reduce the appearance of loose or sagging skin and wrinkles. For patients with neck, jawline, and or cheek laxity, a minimally invasive facelift can be a great option and an ideal alternative to a traditional facelift. Our patients often combine the minimally invasive facelift treatment with other procedures like fat grafts and dermal fillers. FaceTite™, which uses radiofrequency assisted lipolysis to tighten the skin up to 36 percent, can also be used in conjunction with a minimally invasive facelift procedure.

Forehead Lifts

forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, is often performed to treat conditions associated with aging. These include creases across the forehead or high on the bridge of the nose, frown lines, and a sagging brow. A forehead lift can also be appropriate for some inherited traits, such as a low brow, or wrinkles caused by stress or overactive muscles.

A brow lift is often performed at the same time as a facelift, which removes excess skin and tightens muscles in the mid- and lower face. If there is significant skin overhang in the upper eyelids or puffy bags beneath your eyes, eyelid surgery may be recommended, in addition to a forehead lift.

Neck Lifts

For many of us, the neck begins to show age faster than the whole face. Jowls can form from fatty deposits at the jaw line and laxity in the muscles. The neck muscles may begin to separate and hang, creating “bands.” Even the skin may droop, resulting in the “turkey wattle” look. If you are experiencing any of these problems, then you may want to consider a neck lift.

Sometimes, it isn’t age that determines the need for a neck lift, also known as platysmaplasty. Other reasons people choose a neck lift in Texas is because they have lost considerable weight or have a hereditary feature they would like to remedy. In fact, many younger people undergo neck lifts.

Cheek Lifts

During his more than 25 years in practice, Dr. Joseph M. Perlman has seen hundreds of patients who come in concerned about the way their cheeks have started to sag. Many will push their cheek up and say, “If I could only get my cheek to look like this, I would be happy.” Over the past five years, Dr. Perlman has developed a suture suspension technique that he calls a loop suspension. This relatively new procedure results in a cheek lift for the patient.

Facial Implants

Facial implants augment, reconstruct or rejuvenate your features. Made of specially formed solid, biocompatible materials, implants are available in a wide range of sizes and styles for the chin, jaw, nose, and cheek. Many facial implant patients are bothered by a small chin, weak jaw, or lack of facial contour. With facial implants, they can add or restore contour and/or proportion to the face.

Eyelid Surgery

It is said that “the eyes are the windows to the soul.” They are the main focus when people are looking at you during a conversation. The eyes are also one of the major areas of facial aging. With eyelid surgery, you can “turn back the clock” and recapture a firmer, more youthful look.

The eyelid skin is very thin, approximately 1/7 as thick as cheek and forehead skin. As we age, our skin cells no longer retain water, as they did when we were younger. In addition, external forces such as cigarette smoking, pollution, and pollen aggravate the swelling of the eyelids, which further stretches the skin. The eyebrows begin to sag, the upper eyelid skin stretches, and lower eyelids become puffy. This puffiness develops with the weakening of the membrane that holds the eye socket fat in place, which causes the fat to protrude forward, creating bags.

Lip Augmentation

Like the rest of your skin, your lips lose collagen as you age, which affects the fullness, shape, and overall appearance of your mouth. Your lips can also be negatively influenced by smoking and sun exposure. Lip augmentation at Advanced Plastic Surgery Centre can help plump up your lips, making them appear more youthful and enhancing how you look.

There are several options for lip augmentation, including implants and injections. Dr. Perlman primarily uses Perma silicone with implants. It produces great results and comes in a variety of sizes. If you are interested in any of the lip augmentation procedures featured below, please contact Advanced Plastic Surgery Centre for more information or to schedule a consultation.

Otoplasty (Ears Reshaping)

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. The surgery has helped thousands of men, women, and children in Texas who were embarrassed or dissatisfied with the size or shape of their ears. With ear surgery, patients can finally enjoy a natural shape to their ears, as well as new balance and proportion to their face.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Plastic Surgery)

Nose reshaping (sometimes referred to as a “nose job” or its medical term, “rhinoplasty”) can enhance your facial features by modifying the shape of your nose. Plastic surgeons usually recommend that patients wait until they are at least 14 or 15, and possibly older for boys, before undergoing rhinoplasty because the nose may not be fully developed at a younger age. If you are a teen, your nose reshaping surgeon will want to be certain that you have thought carefully about surgery and that the desire to change your appearance is based on your own feelings, rather than those of your parents or friends.

Non-Surgical FaceTite™

FaceTite is a totally non-surgical, sub-dermal procedure that uses radiofrequency to tighten loose skin around the face and jaw up to 36%. It’s able to deliver the same amazing results you get with a mini-facelift, but is minimally invasive. There is no surgery involved, so there are no stitches needed or residual scarring afterwards.

Some patients choose to combine liposuction in the neck or jowls area for even more contouring, resulting in a more youthful overall appearance.

Boost Your Mental Health

The most common intent behind plastic surgery is to improve physical appearance. While this may seem like a vain reason to go under the knife, it goes much deeper than what seems to be on the surface. When you improve your physical appearance, you automatically feel better about how you look and how you feel. There’s no better feeling than loving the person that you see in the mirror. So, when patients elect to have cosmetic surgery, they are ultimately boosting their self-image and self-esteem.

Improve Your Health

When it comes to the word health, it’s important to remember that it includes all forms of health, such as physical, emotional, mental, intellectual, social, and even occupational. If you look at the term “health” in the broadest way possible, it’s pretty easy to understand how plastic surgery can have a positive impact on a patient’s health. The healthier we are, the longer and more fulfilling our lives can be. So, how can cosmetic enhancements help health? Here are a few examples that go well beyond the cosmetic side of things.

Enjoy Non-Surgical Options

There are new completely non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures to not only make your look younger but also to give you healthier skin. A noninvasive procedure is used stimulate and rebuild collagen that renews and regenerates a healthier skin. FaceTite is just one of many minimally invasive procedures that uses new radio frequency technology to tighten skin laxity and remove small fat deposits of the face and neck without any large scars.
